CODOH's InfoSet.INDEX

  1. InfoSet.SHLTRS
Samuel Crowell's Gas Chamber of Sherlock Holmes:

"If there were no gas chambers, then why did all those people say there were?" is a common response to the raised fact that there is to this date not one piece of forensic evidence or documentation proving the existence of these legendary "industrial" killing facilities. Crowell traces the history of public perceptions of and fears about the various elements that combined over 75 years or more to produce the climate and conclusions in post-WWII legal proceedings in Germany. For the first time, an alternative thesis is put forth to explain what the convergence of evidence might really prove. The work is extensively referenced, calling on primary sources that have lain in archives for more than sixty years, studiously ignored by mainstream researchers and historians. An eye-opener of merit.

  2. InfoSet.SOBRAN
    Joseph Sobran's Commentary:

Joe Sobran is one of those courageous writers with intelligence and talent to match his considerable contempt for those who would deconstruct this Republic one small part at a time and expect good men who see it to stand by silently. Not only expect, but insist, with sometimes vicious and career-derailing methods of "persuasion." He stands his ground and calls it like he sees it in pithily elegant prose. It was writers such as he who made this country possible. Let us pray that the continued presence of those who deliver broadsides at sacred cattle will coincide by insuring the continuance of America as we know it -- or thought we knew it. Features a half-dozen columns stored on this site, with links to many archived columns and Sobran's own Web page.

  3. InfoSet.BERG

How they work....

Related items of whatever number and type are linked to each other in sequence via a navigation table at the top of each included page. This table allows you to go to the Previous page, Next Page, or a plain-text Table of Contents for the InfoSet, which lists all the items in sequential order with each listing linked to that item. The reader can then choose to either go in the suggested order by using the navigation buttons, or pick and choose from the Table of Contents.

A given page might be included in more than one InfoSet, in which case color-coded navigation buttons will help you stay with the proper navigation table. Also, each InfoSet's identification code is superscripted to the term InfoSet.ID CODE at the upper left corner of the tables.

How they can work better -- your feedback....

Let us know how well this system works for you, including any additions that you feel might be helpful, or subjects you'd like to see brought together. If it can be HTML coded, we'll be happy to include it and will explain the outcome to you in any case. Use the CODOHmail link at the bottom of this page for all comments.

Further explanation....

[Skip this bull and take me back to the InfoSet.INDEX now.]

InfoSets are an attempt to resolve some of the difficulties encountered in browsing the contents of a 50 Megabyte Website, such as CODOH's. Even if you take that huge store of information and prepare the most complete alphabetical indices possible, a reader is still faced with the equivalent of being handed the keys to a large research archive. Which is to say that much work is required to pull together the information necessary to get an overview of any complex subject, and this one is nothing if not complex.

The situation is not helped much by the fact that academics and mainstream media and publishing have boycotted, suppressed, distorted and denied this information for the fifty-plus years following WWII. So no compendiums have been published to bring together the rising number of voices who dare comment that it looks mightily to them as if the Emperor, while not naked, has some gaps in the royal costume one could throw a cat through, as Twain put it.

We take pride in the small role CODOH plays in defending by practicing the right of every American to speak freely on any subject of their choice. To those who parrot the increasingly fashionable idea that themes which some people find objectionable or emotionally painful ought to be silenced as a matter of common decency, we reply that the very essence of the ideal of free speech requires  that the most objectionable themes be allowed a forum, and that to posit otherwise is by far the greater indecency. If a position is in error to any degree, and ours no doubt contains a number of errors, a public forum allows all persons to review it and note that fact for themselves rather than depending on spoon-fed official received knowledge. That's how discourse is supposed to function when free speech is allowed to take its unfettered course, and it's the best way we know to identify the useful information in the maze of flim-flam that's flung at us all daily.

It's also the best way to stop incipient tyranny in its tracks. A patriot defends his or her country, but there is no requirement in that definition for one to be such a fool as to suppose that politicians, special interest groups (pardon the repetition), and academics are immune to the common human foibles of mistakes and lies that are "officially" the province of "the rest of us."
