Subj: Re: Internet Censorship Protest Day Date: 95-12-19 13:10:00 EST From: Senator@kennedy.senate.gov To: Widmann@xxx.xxx Senator Kennedy's statement on the conference report on Internet censorship ________________________________________________________________ I oppose the Internet censorship provision of the telecommunications conference report. Federal censorship of the Internet is both unconstitutional and unnecessary. No one condones pornography. But before enacting a blunderbuss ban like this, we ought to support effective alternatives, like software that is currently widely available, that give families greater power to block offensive material. |
