Although our first set of exchanges was rather terse and perhaps adversarial I have had some days now to reconsider the exchange and reduce it to its essentials. The differences between you and I appears to resolve to a very simple issue. You accept testimony as long as you consider it physically possible and I require physical evidence before I will accept testimony to the evidence. As a skeptic I can accept nothing without physical evidence else I would be accepting many quite possible things such as unicorns. You appear to accept anything which you deem to be physically possible based upon testimony which would include biological warfare by the US in Korean and by the USSR in Vietnam. Now I can see that you have a novel in preparation. If it is based upon the kind of material you sent me, all testimony, then I can see it being quite difficult to continue with it while changing the theme to physical evidence. Now rest assured, should it actually be published I will review it far and wide as another in the long line of public superstitions based upon testimony only. Such things will include what I have mentioned such as alien abductions and witchcraft and a long line of other matters such as the Loch Ness Monster and Atlantis. And rest assured as I have been assured over years of mentioning this parallel (you are far, far from the first which I will also review) that a fair fraction of your readers are also believers in at least two items in the list I will recite. In other words, you are opening yourself to public ridicule by the same folks whom The Skeptic is addressed. That is quite clearly for which you are begging. You made much of Broad who does not even appear in the transcripts of Nuremberg. Most likely that appears in the supplementary documents to Nuremberg. Which of course are worthless as they were not crossexamined. As in fact is any testimony that was not crossexamined. As you should know, the most damning material at Nuremberg was simply read into the record from another source and never crossexamined. There was no right to be confronted by one's accusers there. So if you are going to base you novel on such material you will only have true believers in gas chambers and Wicca and alien abductions on your side. I have been in this game long enough to know gas chambers attract all kinds of wingnuts from other causes. Us rational, scientific and skeptical types do not give two cents for a claim that a room is a gas chamber without physical evidence that the room has the required engineering features of a gas chamber. Now I am fully aware that Jaimie McCarthy (computer science is not a science despite the name) is full of himself in his pretension the scientific knowledge but that should not lead to be other than skeptical about his assertions. It is also well known on the internet that Green will subvert science to his agenda. If you wish a modest education on this, please ask but remember that all chemical bonds are about 10 microns thick and that mean to the simple minded that gas masks can not work nor can activated charcoal. But if you publish as you have responded to me you are going to do nothing but preach to the true believers and at the same time provide cannon fodder. Consider that it will be an indirect attack upon Skeptic Magazine in that you can not separate gas chamber testimony from witchcraft testimony. Your publication will lose in the process. That is a fact. Now I care less as I have a real skeptic agenda. No physical evidence then there is only bullshit. If you are going to publish a novel on this subject then you are going to be subject to "no physical evidence" review that has been damning the gas chamber liturgy since October 1945. If you insist upon stories only you will be responsible for all stories absent (and I know it will be absent as you are derivative rather than creative) critical reasons to choose between stories. And all of that means you will get about 50,000 paperback sales and be forgotten with the rest. What a waste of time and effort. In a larger sense, when are you going to publish skeptical reviews of Moses as you have of Jesus? It is clear by inspection that all of Exodus is BS from start to finish. No ifs ands or buts excuses, just pure BS! Now you posted to me that you are not Jewish and have not Jewish friends. The lack of Jewish friends is in itself quite odd as I have many including a man I considered a surrogate father.
